Ummm…tell me more Mama Bear.

Hello friends!

My name is Kate and I love my crazy, blessed life. I am a native Arizonan who really would love to live by the ocean, but hates fish...like seriously, I am terrified of fish.  I am madly in love with my best friend, my handsome ginger, George. We have been married for 15 years and have had the privilege and honor of caring for over 45 children over the past 11 years. The hubs works full time and I am a retired youth minister who has the joy of staying home with our babies. I am currently a Mama Bear to 12 precious munchkins who make our daily life challenging, blessed, amazing, hilarious, beautiful, and let's be REAL, occasionally incredibly frustrating. Hence, I am a fan of red wine.

Our kiddos are ages 11, 10, 9, 8, 8, 8, 6, 6, 5,  3, 3, & 1. We have FOUR girls and EIGHT boys. I think George calculated that we will have teenagers for 16 years.  (Please send more wine.) I say all of the time that the boys are MUCH easier than the girls but honestly, it depends on the day.

The boys are total shenanigans (with the exception of one angelic eight year old boy). Five of them share a giant room upstairs and three are enjoying the quiet in another bedroom. Sometimes, I am not even mad, I'm impressed with the trouble they can get into. Then, there are moments where I am blown away by their love and consideration for others. I will be sharing more stories of their mischievous adventures and rare angelic moments. (There is pee, toilet paper, and, for some weird reason, toothpaste everywhere.)

The girls make life quite exciting. They are so loving with each other, but, again, it depends on the day, errrr ummm, minute, wait, second. In all seriousness, they are the sweetest four sisters who share a small room with two bunkbeds and so far, haven't ripped each other apart (completely). Each of them are entirely unique and bring so much joy and love to our family. I know this Mama Bear is so happy to have four of the most incredible young ladies in the world to call my daughters. Also, I am pretty sure they are hoarders. I'll keep you posted if they end up on a hoarding reality show. (There is makeup, clothing, and sooooo much hair everywhere.)

I love to share about our family. We are a beautiful, multicultural, loving, chaotic mess and we love the Lord for calling us to this journey. He is so generous and provides for our every need...whether it be through our loving family,  incredible organizations, the occasional hand me downs from a neighbor, a Surprise Squad gift (thanks AZFamily 3TV), a month without an ER visit,  a day without poop being found outside of the toilet, or a quiet family night in our home (yay, we finally bought our home this summer). He has our backs. God is so good. We trust in Him and His plan for our family.

Here's to sharing His plan...

Peace,

Kate, aka Mama Bear
